You can't really see anything, but it's Nicoll firing up his chainsaw in the middle of the city at 11:00 at night. I don't think a lot of people are familiar with 2 stroke exhaust in the city. The next day I met up with some guys to ride and asked if they heard a chainsaw. My buddy Brett said he did and thought, "Who the hell is running a chain saw?". I told him who it was and his response was, "Oh", but his tone was that it made complete sense.

Yesterday Jake, Babik and I are out on a ride. We're cutting through Larryville and two dudes on fixies roll by. None of us say anything to one another, but are all thinking the same thing. Then all of the sudden the one dude busts a wheelie for probably 200 meters in traffic and bunny hops out of it at about 20 mph. Then we discussed what losers we are cruising around in spandex.

Bottom line is that it was pretty sick.

We also discussed what would have happened if Steevo was present. Would Steevo have known this guy? Would Steevo's street cred be tarnished by this guy?

Minturn also sent an email about getting his VW stuck in a corn field somewhere in Iowa.

This is what happens when you attempt to stop a chocolate lab running full steam at an oncoming car. It spins you down on to one knee. The whole ordeal wasn't as bas as this, but annoying none the less. During the course of 6.5 hours at the hospital, I had x-rays, a round of I.V. antibiotics, some nice irrigation and 4 staples. After that, the hole (5 cm wide) in my knee was some what back together.

An unfortunate navigation error cost Cummings a shot at the top step, but opened the door for the rest. Schempf and Montello continued to ride together until what proved to be the decisive climb at mile 45.

This not so fascinating creature can be easily distinguised by their hideous ski attire that may include any of the following: A pair of tight jeans, ankle gators, workout clothes, starter jackets (any team), sunglasses that belong in a miami nightclub instead of a ski mountain and baseball caps. You generally find Joey's falling onto and off of ski lifts and snowplowing down runs they have no business being on.

Everyone who has their Moto's, BMW's and Triump's, you know who you are..step. I picked up a 1983, Honda Aero 50! This thing has 50cc's of pure power*. Here is a pic (crappy quality) of what I managed to get my hands on. Mine has a few scratches on the drive side.

The Tour Continues

It's a cycle that starts every year right about now. Blacky gets a call from Says, "BLACKY! How can can "we" (we = Blacky) do this?" "This" varies from welding, moving, painting, the list goes on. One week ago, it was unloading a bunch of lousy dirt from Says' new yard.

Part of this cycle includes Says showing up, walking through a little area in front of Blacky's porch and Blacky yelling, "Says, you dick! I just planted ferns there. Walk around". I have honestly heard this consistently for about 5 years now.

Says being the kind guy that he is dumped a bunch of garbage dirt against Blacky's house, took a piss and left. What a guy...

St. Patty's Day...Went into town to try and meet up with people. The scene, people falling down (literally) drunk everywhere. Went into the "Green" bar to have a pint of beer with an old friend and saw some chick rifle down two shots of Jagr on a mini karaoke stage with out a shirt on and then proceed to stand there while everyone stared at her boobs.

Last night, Erin and I went to see The Hold Steady. Good show. They are playing tonight in State College and this weekend in Lancaster...check it out if you can.

Does any remember watching Friday Night Videos?

Last night, I finally got out of my shell as of late and went to see a couple bands. Local band, Zombie, opened up for Trans Am and are going to do so for the rest of the tour. It was a great show. There was a turn of events though, Tony, the drummer from Zombie ended up sitting in on drums for Trans Am. Not sure why, but the drummer for Trans Am was in a Pittsburgh Hospital...not sure why. The set wasn't all that long, but it was pretty damn tight. The banter between songs was entertaining, since they would check the drummer to see if he knew how to play the next song.

The demand for me updating this blog has far surpassed that of "Black Lane". Anyways, Says' short lived rap career faded quickly and he said he has been training again. This pic of Says is from last year when we visited Fry in CO. Says had a some "issues" with adapting to the altitude. Anyways, he called me to inform me that he has recently purchased a nice, compact oxygen machine that he will use before and after all 60 min crits without hills. Way to go, buddy. Also, he isn't pictured here, but I can assure Carney was drinking when this pic was taken.

Says enjoying himself on the Fry's kitchen floor, circa 04'...classic. I remember him making about 45 phone calls from this floor and harassing anyone he could think of. I would say that Pro Wayne easily received 35 of the 45 calls. It's nice to see he's matured since then.
